Lord of the Rings Fans:

The Hunt for Gollum  (www.thehuntforgollum.com)
(An independent film, which can be viewed online.  This fills in a scene from "The Lord of the Rings" with some pretty good look alikes.  Was tipped off from twitter by the tolkienlibrary, www.tolkienlibrary.com - S. K. Smith)

Born of Hope  (www.bornofhope.com)
(Another independent film, which can be viewed online.  This is a prequel  from "The Lord of the Rings."
"A scattered people, the descendents of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son."

("Amazing Grace is a 2006 film about the campaign against the slave trade in 19th century Britain, led by William Wilberforce, who was responsible for steering anti-slave trade legislation through the Brtish parliament. The title is a reference to the hymn "Amazing Grace" and the film also recounts John Newton's writing of the hymn and highlights his influence on Wilberforce".)

Chariots of Fire    (youtube.com)
( Chariots of Fire (1981) is the true story about "two British track athletes, one a determined Jew, and the other a devout Christian who compete in the 1924 Olympics."  I found this scene inspiring as Eric Liddell reads from Isaiah  40:12-31 . - S. K. Smith)

Keeping Mum:  Song of Solomon   (youtube.com)
(I found the British dark comedy, Keeping Mum (2005), intriguing and unique for using the  The Song of Solomon as a turning point.  In this clip, the Vicar reads passages from the Bible to re-ignite passion into his marriage at a critical time when his wife is on the cusp of plunging into an adulterous affair with a real creep. - S. K. Smith)

Charlie Chaplin:  The Great Dictator (1940)

(This 1940 film was Charlie Chaplin's first "Talkie."  It was very bold and prophetic for its time, as it conceived on the cusp of World War Two and the rise of Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany.  A Jewish barber, recovering from amnesia, is a dead ringer for the dictator of Tomainia, Adenoid Hynkel.  The symbol of the dictator's regime is the double cross, which is enforced by Storm Trooper.  See more:  The Great Dictator.)

Dr. Who

Dr. Who:  The Empty Child   (youtube.com)
(BBC's Dr. Who is the longest running Sci-Fi program in the world.

"The Doctor," a Time Lord, regularly regenerates into different incarnations as he travels through time and space, usually with a mortal female companion. His vehicle, the TARDIS, resembles an old fashioned British Police Box, which is bigger on the inside that the outside. Oh, the marvels of science fiction.

Two 2005 episodes, "The Empty Child" and its sequel "The Doctor Dances", are set in Great Britain during the onslaught of World War Two. The TARDIS lands the ninth Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston, and his companion Rose Tyler from 21st century London, back in London of 1941 during the Blitz.
